Subaru Head Gasket Replacement and Engine Rebuilds
Subaru's boxer engines reward a workshop that knows them. Whether your engine is weeping oil or coolant, overheating, using oil or down on power, we diagnose the cause and explain the options before any work starts.

How We Do an EJ25 Head Gasket and Engine Reseal
Head gasket leaks are a well-known issue on EJ-series engines such as the EJ25. We don't just swap gaskets. Our process:
1. Remove the engine and strip it to a bare short motor.
2. Hardness-test the cylinder heads before any machining.
3. Hot-wash all parts and hardware.
4. Scrub the block and piston tops clean.
5. Hand-deck the block with a finishing stone to remove low spots.
6. Inspect the sump oil pickup for debris or cracking.
7. Reassemble with only genuine gaskets and seals, replacing perished oil and water hoses.

Do the Major Items at the Same Time
With the engine out, it's the best time to replace major service items such as the timing belt kit, water pump, spark plugs, clutch or radiator, which saves you paying for the labour twice.
Rebuilds and Performance Builds
From reconditioned engines and new short motors to forged performance builds with Carrillo pistons and rods, every engine is assembled in-house and can be checked on our 4WD dyno. We rebuild Subaru boxer engines, from older turbo and non-turbo engines to the latest models.
